Put ewes to the ram

Start a tupping group: choose the ewes, give the group a name and add the rams, and FlockFinder works out the lambing window.

Checked against app v2.39.1

Put a group to the ram in seconds, from the field.

On your phone

  1. Open Livestock and tick the ewes going to the ram. Search by tag to narrow the list.

  2. Tap the round button at the bottom right, then Put to ram.

  3. If a group already has the ram in, choose Record a new service (or Add to a group with the ram to add these ewes to it).

  4. Optionally give the group a Group name, for example "Top field, Texel tup".

  5. Check the Date in. If the rams are already out, tap Add date out.

  6. Under Rams, tap Choose a ram from your flock, or type a name in Or type a name and tap Add.

  7. Check the Method (Natural or AI) and pick a Raddle colour if you use one.

  8. Tap Save. A message confirms how many ewes were recorded.

On a computer

  1. Open Livestock and tick the ewes going to the ram.

  2. In the actions for the selected animals, choose Put to ram / bull.

  3. If a group already has the ram in, choose Record a new service (or Add to a group with the ram now).

  4. Optionally enter a Group name, then check the Date in.

  5. Under Rams, click Choose a ram from your flock, or type a name and click Add.

  6. Check the Method, pick a Raddle colour if you use one and click Save.

Put a group to the ram, name it, and know when they will lamb.

Adding ewes to a group that already has the ram

  1. Tick the ewes and choose Put to ram as above, then Add to a group with the ram.

  2. Answer Seen marked?: Yes, marked (then check the Marked on date) or No, just add them.

  3. Choose the group from the list.

Name your tupping groups so you always know which is which.
